  • Delightful little apartment. Spotlessly clean. The host has thought of everything with some extra homely touches. Ideally located, walking distance to both town and beach. I would strongly recommend this apartment.

Explore Falmouth & Cornwall

For a day in town, we recommend you include a visit to The National Maritime Museum. Fifteen galleries over five floors explore the influence of the sea on history and culture. From folklore to science, theatre to lectures, the dynamic events at the NMM are carefully thought out to appeal to all ages and levels of maritime mastery.

If you fancy combining your history with some real sea-faring, spend a day exploring Henry VIII’s castles. Pendennis is a short walk from your apartment and its twin, St Mawes is a fun twenty minute ferry-crossing from the Prince of Wales Pier. Both were built to protect England from the Armada and have incredible views across the Fal Estuary and out to sea. Now English Heritage properties, both sites have parking, toilets and a cafe/shop as well as interactive opportunities to learn about Falmouth’s history.

For garden lovers, Trebah and Glendurgan are both a 15-20 minute drive away. Both sub-tropical gardens lead you downwards through a variety of intriguing landscapes filled with exotic and indigenous plants until you emerge at the cove. 7,500 US troops set-off from Trebah in 1944 for Normandy to take part in the D-Day Landings and you can see a memorial to the brave Americans at the bottom of the garden. As well as fascinating history and plants, you’ll find adventure playgrounds, shops and cafes at both sites. Enjoy losing yourself in Glendurgan’s maze or Trebah’s bamboozle before an ice-cream on the beach.

A little further afield, at the tip of the Roseland peninsula, is St Anthony’s Lighthouse. Built in 1835 to guide vessels clear of the Manacles, the site of the lighthouse is dramatic, historic and home of TV classic, Fraggle Rock.
